Can an EKG or ultrasound performed by a cardiologist detect hypertension?

Recently, at my doctors, by blood pressure has been up because I get nervous there. So, my doctor refered me to a cardiologist who performed an ekg and an ultrasound and it returned normal. But, i still worry about it. So if i did have hypertension, would it have been detected??
