Proven Alternative to Cure Hypertension

Thursday, February 19th, 2009
Hypertension
Christine Gray Flynn asked:

It is estimated that no less than 600 million people worldwide are affected by hypertension. Described as a ‘silent killer’ hypertension causes 5 million premature deaths each year (World Health Organisation) and the numbers are rising.

There are two kinds of hypertension: primary hypertension, which cannot be attributed to any one thing, and secondary hypertension, which is attributable to some other illness in the body. Both are equally threatening, and wield the same damage on the body such as: cardiovascular disease (angina, stroke, heart attack or atrial fibrillation).

Commonly treatment is two fold: lifestyle and medication. Lifestyle changes include: stopping smoking, reducing alcohol intake, eating more healthily, getting more exercise, and more rest. Medications include ACE inhibitors to make the walls of the blood vessels relax and widen, Calcium channel blockers to widen the blood vessels, Diuretics to trigger hormonal changes and Beta Blockers to reduce the work of the heart during physically stressful times. Unfortunately the effectiveness of these treatments whether administered separately or together varies, ranging from good to poor. And of course, there is a double-edged sword when medication is used: its positive effects being offset by its negative.

But hypertension can be treated in another way, a way that has been clinically proven to achieve consistently good results, often eliminating the disease altogether while effecting other positive side effects that promote increased health and greater well being. It is the practice of meditation.

In the past 30 years there has been extensive research on the effects of meditation on health, and there is no longer any doubt about the positive effect it has not only on the spirit, but on the mind, and the body also. Meditation changes a person’s brainwave frequencies and by doing so, changes the bioelectrical activity of their brain and the commands that it sends to the rest of their body.

When meditating, a person may have more endorphins released into their system causing them to feel ‘high’, they might also have an increase in the neurotransmitters (dopamine and serotonin) that are associated with positive mental states, their brain might also give the signal to release more melatonin, and DHEA (anti ageing and rejuvenating hormones) into the blood stream and all of these are extremely beneficial to physical and mental well being.

When one feels mentally well it cannot help but have a positive effect on one’s physical well being, similarly one’s physical well being will have a positive effect on one’s mental well being. Through practiced meditation, the mind body connection becomes positively symbiotic. There is consistent positive feedback between the two that, in time, will result in a person not only reducing their blood pressure, but improving their overall physical and mental well being.

How to Control Hypertension With Self Hypnosis

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009
Hypertension
J Seymour asked:

You can control hypertension with self-hypnosis. Whether you need high blood pressure help due to lifestyle or obesity, this approach is very effective. Following are ways that hypnosis works with the inner controller of your high blood pressure in order to achieve excellent results.

Habits and Hypertension Self-Help

Many people fail to recognize the significant connection between habit and health, especially in the realm of relaxation. Your emotional state has a direct effect on your physical being. When you feel anxiety and stress, you feel it in your body. High blood pressure is a prime example.

You may be in the habit of harboring feelings or you might have very strong emotional responses to minor issues. Either way, you can address this pattern of emotional and physical responses and control hypertension by changing the habitual pattern in your subconscious mind.

Control Hypertension with Hypnosis

Controlling your blood pressure involves taking a comprehensive approach. The first step in the process is to consult your physician for a complete assessment of your situation. Your doctor can prescribe the necessary medication and provide a viable treatment plan.

You can augment the medical interventions developed by your physician with self-hypnosis to achieve the maximum results. There are a few reasons that this comprehensive approach works so well. The first involves following your doctor’s orders.

Following Doctor’s Orders

Since you are probably deeply set in a certain system of habit, you might have difficulty following your doctor’s directions well. This is because your subconscious mind resists changes in your pattern of habit. You can reprogram your subconscious mind in order to achieve a receptive state that allows you to adopt the right regimen for your recovery.

This includes changing your eating habits, drinking less alcoholic beverages and taking your medication. In addition, it also involves relaxing and easing stress. It can be very difficult to follow the doctor’s orders to relax and avoid anxious feelings and hypertension because they seem out of your control.

Controlling Stress and Anxiety

You can take charge of your stress and anxiety through self-hypnosis in order to control hypertension. This process makes relaxing very easy and you are able to train your subconscious mind to respond differently to stressful situations. You are better able to process the emotions in a healthy way rather than allowing your blood pressure to rise.

Self-hypnosis recordings can help you achieve excellent results in your complementary approach to relieving high blood pressure. A great choice is Duncan McColl’s masterful recording found here - Control Hypertension. Duncan’s work is well received by the hypnosis community and he is considered one of the greats.A fantastic compilation is by a pair of hypnotherapists and it offers an in-depth approach to helping lower blood pressure. This recording is by Tina Taylor and Nick Kemp can be found here - Blood Pressure Help. An excellent selection of similar recordings can be found here - Hypertension Self Help. Just follow the links for more information.

If you have pulmonary hypertension secondary to sleep apnea, how long since you were diagnosed?

Friday, February 6th, 2009
Hypertension
elaine_classen asked:

I have a co worker who is the same age with the same diagnosis. We were diagnosed in the same year, so we assume we have had the disease for about the same amount of time. We both have the C-Pap. He is not on oxygen during the day. I am on oxygen therapy 24/7.

He has been a smoker. He had pneumonia last year , and it seems his disease has begun progressing much more rapidly than mine. He has been hospitalized, and needed a respirator twice in the last six months.

Is this a usual sequence for this condition?

Michael

Hypertension Guideline – How to Cure Hypertension

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009
Hypertension
Charles Gerdson asked:

For patients wondering how they can decrease their blood pressure levels, it is necessary for them to draw up a guideline or plan for them to follow. This plan must be specific to their blood pressure readings, and encompass their unique traits in combating hypertension. The guideline should be whittled down to two major steps;

Exercise. Aerobic Exercise is important to consider when taking into account blood pressure levels. It is necessary to improve blood health and aortic circulation. This will lead to a healthier body being easier to maintain blood pressure levels. Try going jogging or playing a light sport such as squash, tennis or any sport that requires movement. This will greatly help your hypertension.

Eating a balanced diet with a varied range of proper foods. This diet must not include salt where possible as salt can hinder hypertension prevention. Fruits and vegetables like bananas and tomatoes are rich in potassium. This allows your body to increase resistance against high blood pressure.

With these two steps (though big lifestyle changes) can be effectively put into place to combat hypertension. Each is just as important as each other. Fast food is certainly meant to be stayed away from when the patient is combating hypertension, smoking and drinking fall into this category also. When the patient comes across the opportunity o consume an item they must ask themselves, “Is this healthy?” and if it is not stay away. But with a balanced diet of course fatty foods can be consumed just a small proportion very rarely. For more information on Preventing High Blood Pressure visit the link bellow.

Stay Healthy and Good Luck
