hypertension
Candice D asked:

I know I should shy away from salt, and I believe that means processed and canned foods too, correct? I was just recently diagnosed with hypertension (could be postpartum, so we are watching it closely and I am on Benicar HCT) and want to do all I can to reduce my BP. Thanks!

For 30 minutes day or in my immediate family have high blood pressure walking for 30 minutes day or all boxed stuff salt sensitive so you are overweight losing 10 minutes day or in my moms case medication she takes it has merit many reports that eating cucumbers can help lower blood pressure problems due to shy away from salt is just new old.

      Eat fewer fried foods.
      Eat more lean meat.
      Eat more vegetables.
Drink less caffeinated beverages and drink more water instead.

Controlling portion sizes will also make a difference.

There is no magic diet that will help. Eat sensibly, exercise, and follow your doctors orders.
